ShovelSense®

ShovelSense technology helps mine operators sort ore from waste and waste from ore, unlocking new intelligence about the ore body. The main application of ShovelSense is at the open pit dig face or underground hauling point. It is equally effective working in stockpiles and in blending where mobile equipment is used.

The ShovelSense System is installed on all mobile equipment typically used either on the surface or underground-cable shovels, front end loaders, hydraulics shovels and scoops/LHDs.

The System is designed for extreme environmental conditions, as well for the shock and vibration of shovel operations. Our System is easily installed on existing mobile equipment during regular planned maintenance. The System comes equipped with a HMI (human machine interface” that provides the operator with full information, including the ore type within each dig cycle. The System is integrated into the existing fleet management system.

ShovelSense provides the greatest value at the mine’s extraction face, as well as in surge and stockpiles.

How the ShovelSense System Provides Value:

The System provides higher resolution grade data than regular mining production models (bucket-scale)
Real-time access to this hi-res data at the mining face, which is a major decision gate of material sorting (Ore, Waste, Stockpile, etc.)
Allows timely re-routing of mined material with no production delays or additional hauling requirements
Improved sorting capabilities in rehandled stockpiles and complex geological contact zones
Allows closer tracking and planning of mill feed characteristics for mill recovery optimization
Enables more accurate long-term mine planning and reconciliation
Flexible integration with site Fleet Management Systems (FMS) to enable automatic decision-making and reduce reliance on manual mining techniques
